Mountaintop Castaways: Page 6

Synopsis: An adventure guided by you, the reader, about amnesiacs stranded on mysterious mountains. You choose what will happen next.

Chapter 1, Page 6

You (LUMA LUMBA) decide to CONFRONT THIS “TREE FROG” AND TRY TO HAVE A CONVERSATION.

You begin to have a dialogue:

TREE FROG: You think you can just spy on me and get away with it? I’m not gonna let that happen!

Tree Frog pulls out a thread of string.

LUMA: Hold on, I just want to talk!

TREE FROG: Yeah, right!

Tree Frog whips the string out at you. The string itself seems flimsy… but then a burst of glowing energy travels down it and slams into you, knocking you off your feet into the nearest tree. You brush yourself off and get up.

LUMA: Please, I don’t want to fight!

TREE FROG: Don’t play dumb, I won’t let you trick me!

Tree Frog whips another string at you. You see a similar burst of energy travel down this one, but this time you’re able to jump out of the way! As soon as you do, Tree Frog sends out three more strings at you, one by one. You pivot out of the way of the first two, and then instinctively try to punch the third one away. Much to your surprise, your fist glows with the same energy that transferred along the strings, and with plenty of power you send the string flying away from you!

TREE FROG: You think that’s supposed to scare me? Your ~UNLEASH~ is pitiful!

LUMA: My what?

TREE FROG: Still playing dumb, huh? Well this next attack will snap you out of it!

Tree Frog reaches for more strings, but you sprint forward and punch the ground with the same mysterious, glowing energy. The shockwave travels outwards, knocking both you and Tree Frog to the ground. But you are the first to get up.

LUMA (*screaming*): I won’t let you stop me from leaving this mountain!!!

TREE FROG (*screaming*): Oh yeah? Well I won’t let you stop us from leaving this mountain!!!

LUMA: …

TREE FROG: …

LUMA: Wait sorry, what?

Wow, things have gotten really confusing now! Perhaps the story will be clearer if we view it from a different perspective.

You are now Tree Frog. Or, at least, that is the code name you use when talking on your walkie-talkie. What is your real name?
